Children's 4th of July Parade
Plumas Street

Staging at 9:30 on Plumas and A Streets. Parade begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at the Town
Center, by the fountain, where refreshments and other goodies will be available.
Children up through 6th grade are welcome to participate in this free event by dressing up,
decorating their bike or wagon (anything non-motorized with wheels) and celebrating America's
Birthday. Parents are welcome to accompany children on route, safety helmets are required.
All participants receive an American Flag and a participation ribbon. Contact the Yuba City
Parks and Recreation Dept at 822-4650.
14th Annual Cardboard Boat Races
Ellis Lake
Marysville
Registration at 10 a.m. and the races begin at 2:00 p.m. Age categories are 8-11, 12-14, and
15-17. Life jackets are required. Life jackets will be supplied if needed and must be worn
at all times while in the boat. Supplied needed to construct boat will be provided. No motors
of any kind are allowed. Each individual boat is timed from start to finish in each age group
that determines the winners for each age group. Prizes awarded for the following categories
and age groups: 1) Titanic Award (for the best sinking) 2) Best Decorated – 1st place and
runner-up, 9) America’s Cup – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age category. For more

6th Annual All-American Hometown Celebration

The celebration starts off with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at 7:00 a.m., at 8:00 a.m.
the vendor booths are open until 2:00 p.m. at Cork Oak Park, the Parade starts at 10:00 a.m.
on historical B Street, followed by the Antique Car Show. At noon there will be live music,
good food and entertainment for the whole family. At 7:00 p.m., start the evening off with
more live music, drawings for great gifts and end the 4th with a spectacular fireworks
display at around 9:30 p.m. at the football field ($1 donation per person at the gate.)
Fireworks at Oroville Dam

Fireworks display starts at around 9:45 p.m. The dam will close to traffic at 3:00 p.m. so
vendors may set up around 5:00 p.m. Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be available.
Free bus service available from downtown Oroville and the Kelly Ridge area beginning at 6:00 pm
and running every 15 minutes. Passengers may board buses at the bus stop behind Raley’s on
Spencer Street near Mitchell; Lot A in front of the Municipal Auditorium; Lot B on Bird Street,
at the corner of Downer Street; Lot C behind the State Theater; and Lot D at the corner of
Robinson and Myers streets. After the event, shuttle transportation will run from the center
of the dam to downtown Oroville and the Kelly Ridge area. For more information call the
