On Friday, October 11th at 5:30 pm, Renaissance Vineyard and Winery is very pleased to announce their first in a series of Farm Dinners. In conjunction with Renaissance Winery, Frenchtown Inn will host an elegant French farm style dinner prepared by Cordon Bleu Chef Ilya Shalev. The dinner will be prepared with locally sourced ingredients and paired with award-winning Renaissance Wines including the 1999 Cabernet, 2001 Cabernet, 2002 Cabernet, and the 2014 Port wine.
The buffet dinner begins with canapés of organic roasted chicken with celery and tarragon on toast, bacon-wrapped prunes with sour cream on toast, and our locally-grown cherry tomatoes stuffed with locally-produced goat cheese.
The meal continues with roasted local vegetables served “antipasti” style, a potato salad with organic eggs, sweet gherkins with homemade mayonnaise and truffle essence beetroot. In addition there will be tarte filled with carrot, potato, and anchovy, a smoked trout salad with locally grown tomatoes and radishes, an assortment of pates and terrines, to include country-style pork terrine, duck and prunes in cognac terrine, chicken liver patè with port jelly, all served with an assortment of traditional pickled vegetables
The main courses are beef bourguignon with a nest of homemade tagliatelle, slow-roasted organic chicken with herbal infusion, gravy, served with roasted potatoes with onions and dill, whole baked trout in salt crust, served with steamed baby potatoes and Hollandaise Sauce.
The dessert offerings are chocolate and lavender cake, a basil-infused pannacotta with strawberry compote served on the side in a shot, an assortment of profiteroles with vanilla, chocolate and mint fillings, closing with chocolate and amaretto truffles.
With classical guitar music and a view of the Frenchtown Inn Lake, the evening promises to be memorable. We have very limited seating so do not miss this wonderful food and wine event.
